Do you experience periods of mental fatigue or have trouble concentrating? Find yourself losing focus and becoming more easily distracted? Are tasks you set out to accomplish slipping in and out of your memory so fast you sometimes lose track of what it is you were about to do or say?
If so then fear not – you are not alone. These and many other types of mental lapses just like them can collectively be referred to as “brain fog”. Other similar terms used to describe this feeling can include “head fog” or "brain fatigue".
While not an official medical condition, brain fog is an umbrella term that summarizes inexplicable and sometimes sudden feelings of confusion, distraction, mental fatigue, forgetfulness and lack of focus. For many it may feel like you’re suddenly half a step behind or having to think a little harder in order to accomplish your daily tasks. Almost like a fog has descended over your cognition, making it harder and more strenuous to function mentally as you try to navigate through the haze.
